In order to continue to provide value to fans and artists on our platform and deliver the best experience to our customers, AWA has announced that from August 1, 2024, we will be reducing the usage fees for the Standard plan for some payment methods. We will revise it.
■ Background that led to the revision
AWA was created as Japan's first music subscription service. This year marks our 9th anniversary, and we have continued to evolve ever since our launch.
Amid rising infrastructure costs due to global price hikes and the weak yen, we are making a variety of efforts to improve efficiency and soundness in the operation of our service, but after undergoing careful consideration to ensure ongoing system maintenance and the provision of new features/new value, we have come to this conclusion in order to continue providing value to fans and artists on our platform and deliver the best experience to our customers.
We will continue striving to improve our service with an eye toward expanding the number of songs available and further developing the community features that connect creators and fans.
Moreover, in the time to come we are planning to add features that will make listening to music more enjoyable, such as a new sound quality to reduce data consumption and improved library usability.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience experienced by our paid members due to this usage fee revision, and we hope for your continued understanding.

Please see the price list below for the payment methods that are subject to the price revision and the new prices after the revision.
Special notes
For payment methods (payment platforms) subject to the usage fee revision, the new fees will be applied if you register a new billing account or are billed to renew your subscription after the date of the usage fee revision.
Student Plan, and payments made via credit card and carrier on the AWA official website that do not go through an application store, and payments via mineo are not subject to the rate revision and there will be no change in price.
For convenience store payments, please be aware that the price at the store and the actual purchase price may differ, depending on the time and store.
Users that subscribe before August 1st (including trial subscriptions) and whose next renewal is by August 30th will be renewed at the old price once only.
■ Great payment methods and plans
"Payment on AWA website" and "Student Plan" will continue to be available at the same price. "Annual payments" will also continue to be offered at a discounted price for two months.
