Notice of Changes to the AWA Terms of Use

Thanks for using AWA.

On the date of May 16th, 2017 the AWA Terms of Use will be changed as follows:

- The addition of settlement and billing methods on the AWA website


Article 10 (Settlement and Billing Methods)

[The status quo]
The methods for paying members (users of Standard plan) to submit fees stipulated in the previous article are as follows:

  1. The services utilize automatic renewal subscription billing which Apple, Inc. and Google, who perform payment receipt and shipment, offer through the App Store or Google Play Store. Paying members consent that monthly information fees will be billed and collected by proxy through the settlement procedures and payment methods listed above (companies conducting settlement and collecting payment by proxy are hereafter collectively referred to as “Settlement Service Providers”).
  2. Paying members pay monthly information fees to the appropriate Settlement Service Providers in accordance with conditions separately contracted between the paying member and the Settlement Service Provider. Use of the services may be refused in the event that the paying member fails to abide by contracted conditions with the Settlement Service Provider.
  3. When the Settlement Service Provider conducts payment agent services for monthly information fees, the Settlement Service Provider notifies our company of the paying member’s name and nonpayment information if a paying member has not paid the monthly information fee after the payment deadline. In such a case, AWA may directly request payment from the paying member based on the information in the notification.
  4. Paying members shall assume personal responsibility and resultant costs to resolve any disputes that may occur between the Settlement Service Provider regarding payment of monthly information fees, and shall do so without causing any damages or disturbance to AWA. Furthermore, AWA shall not assume any responsibility for damages that may occur to paying members from such disputes.
  5. In the event that AWA incurs damages arising from a dispute between a paying member and the Settlement Service Provider, the paying member shall reimburse said damages in accordance with AWA’s request.

 

[After the changes]
The methods for paying members (users of Standard plan) to submit fees stipulated in the previous article are as follows:

This service uses the automatic renewal subscription billing functions provided in the App Store, Google Play, and Stripe services (hereinafter collectively referred to as the "Billing Functions") of Apple Inc., Google Inc., and Stripe, Inc. (hereinafter collectively referred to as the "Billing and Receipt Agents") that perform billing and receipt agent tasks. (The Stripe function is linked to AWA's official website https://awa.fm.) The information fees are billed and received by means of settlement and payment of Billing Functions provided by Billing and Receipt Agents, paying members are deemed to accept it.
  2. Paying members pay information fees to the appropriate Billing and Receipt Agents in accordance with conditions separately contracted between the paying member and the Billing and Receipt Agent. Use of the services may be refused in the event that the paying member fails to abide by contracted conditions with the Billing and Receipt Agent.
  3. When the Billing and Receipt Agent conducts payment agent services for information fees, the Billing and Receipt Agent notifies our company of the paying member’s name and nonpayment information if a paying member has not paid the information fee after the payment deadline. Article 11 (Subscription Termination)

[The status quo]
The services utilize automatic renewal subscription billing which Apple, Inc. and Google, who perform payment receipt and shipment, offer through the App Store or Google Play Store. A subscription will continue as long as the automatic renewal is not canceled by the customer through the applicable App Store or Google Play Store. Termination must be conducted using the following procedure at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period. After completing termination process, you may continue to use fee­based plan services throughout the subscription period for which you have completed payment. If the subscription period is terminated within the first month, the monthly fee for that month will be charged.

If using an iOS Device

  1. Select “Settings” on your iPhone
  2. Select “iTunes Store/App Store”
  3. Sign in using your Apple Id if not already signed in
  4. Select “Apple ID: Customer Id”
  5. Select “Display Apple ID“ in Alerts
  6. Select ”Subscriptions” and “Manage” (This button will not be displayed if you have not joined subscription billing)
  7. Select “AWA”
  8. Turn off “Auto Renewal” under “Renewal Options.”

If using an Android Device

  1. Launch the “Google Play” application on your Android device
  2. Select “Play Store > My Applications > Subscriptions”
  3. Select “AWA” and select “Terminate”

*Please note that uninstalling the application will not terminate your subscription

 

[After the changes]
This service uses the automatic renewal subscription billing functions provided by the Billing and Receipt Agents. As long as customers themselves do not cancel their subscription through the Billing Functions, the billing will automatically continue. By 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period, please refer to the following links to cancel. Even if a cancellation is processed, customers can continue to use the paid plan service during the already paid subscription period. In addition, even if it is canceled during a subscription period, there will be no refund of fees for that period.
